Thanks again Greenfinger. It's the Pantodon Buchulzi in Latin terms. Lots of people claim it to be aggressive and eat smaller fish.
But I have them for about three years now and they only eat food, fish or other animals if they are floating on the water surface.
The only fishes they have ever eaten were small guppies from my brother's livebearers tank because they kept swimming against the surface and that is Pantodon territory :) For the rest they have never harmed anyone else except for each other

I have a couple in my shrimp tank, a male and a female (at least what shop owner told me back then) As far as I know about 10 cm / 4 inches. I think mine are around 7 or 8 cm or 3 inches.
I think mine haven't really grown much in 3 years time. really nice fish and constantly roams the surface of the tank.
Only when they are scared they might go lower in the tank, but never eat something that isn't on the surface.
Oh yeah, and keep a tight lid on your tank cause the babies can jump like no one has ever seen, hence the name butterflyfish :)

Hi there Kcraven,

In picture 4 it is a Ctenopoma Acutirostre in english it is called leaf or bush fish I think. Not recommended with small fishes though :)
Picture 7 is a dwarfchiclid, it is a Apistogramma Agasizzi.

You have some great fish there. You are making me want to improve my little fish room.

How do you like the Apisto agasizzi? I was recently looking at picking up a 2 or 3 pairs for my 50 gallon.

is that a leopard fish you have or an archer fish? If its a leopard fish, it is still quite young to be so small.

The female from the apisto's died fairly quickly, the male lived about two years and was a pretty cool fish.
Not too territorial and he left most of the other fishes alone. But he didn't like dried or pellet food, live or frozen food only.
I'm not sure of it's English name, could be leopard fish, it's scientific name is ctenopoma acutirostre.
I had two of them and they were about 4 to 5 inches and after doing some research I found out they can reach about 8 inches.
Anyways, the ctenopoma's and the 2 butterfly fish moved to a friend's tank wich is much bigger than mine.
And started of with some smaller fishes in my new setup of this tank such as Iriatherina Werneri; stiphodon percnopterygionus; corydoras pygmaeus; endler guppies and shrimps.

Its great to see you moved the fish to a larger tank I have rescued a few fish over the years at the moment I have a school of Hoplo Catfish and I was asked did I want another one naturally I said yes now the Hoplo is happy with fish of his own kind and in a larger tank.
Those Shrimps look like a very nice dark red any chance of getting more photos of them but close ups please.

Hi keithgh

thanks for the kind words :)
I would like to give you some close up photos of the shrimps (wich have been bred by my brother, need to give him some credit for the compliments) but I am not the best photographer.
And I take pictures with a old canon EOS-350D camera from a friend with a 28-75mm Tamron lens wich is not really suited for this kind of pictures, and not the best brand of lens to get nice and sharp pics, probably the reason I can keep using it :)
The pics of the red shrimps you see in the photos above are the closest I can get without blurring it up.
I can however invite my friend over and let him take his camera and lenses, maybe he will be able to get nicer close ups.

There are a few great photographers here on ASW taking great close ups of Shrimps I am sure they will certainly be able to help you.

The lens of the camera is just not capable of taking such close ups of such small animals.
If I want nice close ups of my shrimps I'll need another lens.
