Would there be any problem with adding beach sand to my freshwater aquascape?

I'm in the beginning stages of building my very first aquascape.

I've got some Bacopa Monnieri sprouting from seeds and I've got substrate and rocks (not sure the name of them yet) all at the bottom of my tank. My tank is about 40cm long, 25cm wide, and 25cm deep.

I want to add some sand from a nearby beach to my aquarium but I'm wondering if the saltiness of the sand would harm everything else I grow in my aquarium.

Any advice or thoughts?

Most saltwater “beach sand” is either crushed coral or limestone based. Both would increase GH and or KH. I would advise against it in a freshwater planted tank.
