at last after 7 years the Philippines entry to iaplc was recognized thru the effort of our colleague/local group member Virgilio Jhay Cortez. the tank scape entry is a 60cm. the scape planted mainly by mosses some stauro repens and anubias nana petite. i will ask permission later by posting his scape images hahahahahah.

it is going to be a little surprise. even me was surprised how he was able to do it.

if you look at the first two photos, i am sure you will not impress.

That is an extremely interesting aquascape, no matter where you look there is some point of interest.

I hope the plants do not distract your eyes from seeing all the DW details.

Absolutely, thanks Ed. It's great to see how it was constructed. It's revealed a few secrets, especially the effect of the tropical rainforest creepers, and how to construct a vanishing point to give an impression of infinite depth.

Many new members think its only matter of creating a hardscape and adding plants and you have a fantastic Aquascape.

Perspective is certainly far from a "New" thing its learning and understanding it and how it can improve your Aquascape remembering its only one part of Aquascaping.
perspective.

Perspective
`1 The art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other. "the theory and practice of perspective".

2 A particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.
"most guidebook history is written from the editor's perspective"
synonyms: outlook, view, viewpoint, point of view, standpoint, position, stand, stance, angle, slant, attitude, frame of mind, frame of reference, approach, way of looking/thinking, vantage point, interpretation
"her perspective on everything had been changing"

One thing I can say "It was not the easiest Drawing subject I had to teach to Apprentices"

I can only image the massive pile of the little bits of wood rejected as they didn't quite lie right against the bigger DW and rocks. So many must have been rejected. The hours/days playing with the little pieces, then apply all the perspective, getting the lines right, size shape position, getting getting to be ready to flood, then pieces warp out of position with water and time. Choosing the right plants, getting the growth just right so the plant size fits the scale of the hardscape to create, the illusion off depth and scale.
The skill in getting the plants to grow and look healthy algea free.
The final pic we don't see wood rocks plants, we see an amazing living illusion of an artist, a true master of a multi disciplined hardscape and living Art form.
That's what I am starting to see in tanks like these, my efforts are not even stracthing the surface by comparison and completly unworthy of comparison.

Its called having a wonderful eye for detail plus many years of experience getting to that level.

It was nice to see more small tanks in the top 100 this year. This is an excellent layout for many of the reasons already mentioned here. An additional element not mentioned and often neglected by scapers is the use of shadow in the scape. You will find many top layouts utilize shadow and texture well. Please, pass my congratulations on to your fellow countryman for a job well done.

actually Jhay is new to the hobby...about 2years only.
what is interesting is his eagle eye in creating a nice perspective to his creation.

I fully agree with you on that. If a back lighting was used correctly it could look very spooky indeed.
