You're right about that. I think it stems from being fish keepers first where flow isn't really thought of or talked about. Bio filtration capacity is for more advanced fish keepers, but many newbies look at the rank size rating on the box and get whatever fits. It doesn't go beyond that...that's how it was for me when keeping fish only tanks.

One problem you often see on Forums is "I want to hide all the pipes" looks before practicality.

I've been listening since you guys started the podcast, great work I've learned a lot from it.
Why are the episodes so short and vague? I notice when you guys mention a product that works you go into details about it, but the ones you warn to stay away from aren't explained much. Don't be afraid to ramble on, some of us have no one to talk to locally about aquascaping, and it's the little off topic dialogs between you two that I learn a lot from. You reveal little tricks and secrets someone with less experience wouldn't know about.
Sorry if my post seems negative, I didn't mean it to be so. I appreciate and admire the work you've done.

If there are any specific questions you may have on any of the episodes, we would be happy to explain further or answer questions. Leave a comment on the website. I'm always there checking to see if there are comments. Maybe even address it in upcoming episodes.
