Haha that much is true. I still am shocked by the price and how long it's lasting
So I did a water change and moved the wood around ( I think this is waft you meant?)
I still need to make the old piece more vertical. But I like this way, the shape of the new piece is intriguing.
Also removed pebbles and temp left the big pebble.
Any opinions?
Thanks again.
Also I'm looking to up the lighting when I add plants, current have 1x15w blue cfl and 1x11w 6400k White cfl.
Planning to build a 40w LED White/royal blue mix fixture.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've decided to take the back piece out. I think it'll look better more simplistic.
I also trimmed/rearranged the dwarf sag and found plenty of little runners which I've chopped and moved to the front until they get taller.
Slightly cloudy water. I'll take clearer pic when it settles.
Also I've bought parts for DIY LED
10x 3w White and 4x3w royal blue. I'll try make a build log on another post when parts arrive if anyone's interested.
Also I've been looking at some anubias nana petite to add a bit of a mix in leaf sizes
Thanks for the info, I thought the petite version would look better as its only a small tank? Also have been looking at Hygrophila Polysperma as it grows super fast so would use up excess nutrients.
I was also thinking of maybe trying to use only Asian varieties of plants as that's where the rice fish are from. But don't know how practical that is?
Also what is the best/cost effective co2 method, I've seen liquid co2 but in the long run they are costly ?
Hygrophila, commonly known as swampweeds, is a genus of flowering plants in the acanthus family, Acanthaceae. There are about 80 to 100 species, of which many are aquatic plants. The genus is distributed across the tropical and subtropical world. Wikipedia
Just a quick check it can grow from 12cm to 1.5 Mt that would depend on the species and the conditions it grows in.
The growth you have there looks like it could fill your tank very quickly.
I have a tall Crypt in my tank and once its gets going it will send out runners and grow very thickly.
They are heavy feeders I use liquid ferts every day and fert tabs every 3 months.
I went to the LFS today grabbed a few 'cryptocoryne beckettil' and Cambodia aquatica (the Cambodia won't be a permanent thing, it was cheep and I know it grows fast,
Also I got 3 otto cats, I mentioned wanting an algae eater.. Since getting home I realised they will outgrow my tank (I'll rehome them when it comes to that/get bigger tank)
Also got some rocks. Which looked darker in the store. Not sure if I like them now
