No CO2, 1.5 w/g of T8, a weekly 30-40% water change and a few ml of fertz, and an average of about 4-5cm of highly organic soil mix - 1:1 moss peat and aquatic compost. And a filter with 10x tank capacity trunover/h, and decent surface agitation.

Really nice, and I'm sure lots of patience was required letting it grow in. How long was setup, start to finish?

I think that recently planted c. parva (?) around the front bottom there will work well.
 
Thanks...There is about 4 months growth between the two side by side images. There is some additional panting but the growth rate is fairly self-evident. You're right about the additional foreground crypts, they'll be planted soon.
