Hi there!

I’ m Jakob from Germany and this is my first post at ASW!

I would like to show you my finished layout 'Chiemgau'. It was my first real aquascape and ranked #15 in the standard category of the German Aquatic Plant Layout Contest (GAPLC) 2013. I hope you can see, that I got inspired by the German Alps ;-)

I started it in November 2012 and it was running for about 10 months.

Here are some facts:

Tank dimensions:

- LxDxH 60x45x45cm

Volume:

- 121.5l

Tech:

- 121.5l GlasGarten tank

- Eheim Ecco Pro Filter 750l/h

- LED light (from aquascaping company; designed by Jurijs, purchased at my local aquascaping store)

- Pressurized CO2

Hardscape:

- Approx. 20kg Seiryu Stone

Substrate:

- ADA Power Sand

- ADA Aqua Soil New Amazonia

- ADA Mekong Sand Powder (for the path)

Plants:

- Hemianthus Callitrichoides

- Glossostigma Elatinoides

- Eleocharis sp. 'Mini'

Invertebrates:

- Neocaridina Davidi

- Caridina Japonica

Fish:

- Rasbora Espei

- Otocinclus Affinis

This is the final shot for the GAPLC2013:

After a few months I tried to further improve the layout by adding additional rocks in the back. I think these changes signifianctly improved the scape.

I hope you enjoy it and please tell me what you think!

Best Jakob

Well done Jakob. Congratulations on the ranking in the GALPC. There is some very strong competition in Germany, so you have done incredibly well. I look forward to seeing more of your scapes as you go along.
