Thanks for sharing Shawn, and congratulations. Looks fantastic :)
Can you share some more of your setup details, including photoperiod etc?

Looks Brilliant m8 (y), the attention to detail is at a great level ,with light and shadows giving lots of areas of interest, plus the tank looks like it has so much depth also, great choice for flora which works very well with the stunning hardscape also. Bet it looks better close up to the tank as well, you have defiantly taken your scaping skills to another level with 'Asension' All the love and time you have put into Asension has paid off. Well deserved result :notworthy:

Yep I would like all the setup details as well

Sure.

For this scape I used two 900 sp Twinstar LEDs. My ATI went bad and I was in a crunch so purchased a new LED light. Turns out the Twinstar lights do not get good spread over a 45 cm deep tank, so I needed a second light to ensure even light spread throughout the layout. Lights were on for 8-10 hours a day. I like 10 for viewing, but will sometimes shorten to 8 hours preceding contest photos to make sure I don't get any extra algae and the tank is as clean as possible. I never go beyond 10 hours of light.

I ran lots of filtration on this setup. I have an ADA superjet 1200 and I added an eheim 2213 with the outlet on the opposite rear side to make sure the stems got plenty of flow. I've found this type of an arrangement helpful when using some dense stem areas.

The soil was old used ADA aquasoil. I believe I did put some root tabs in before planting for a boost. I may have topped with a bag of new soil as well. I ran powersand for gigglesl in this layout. Power sand is a waste of money and there is no difference in the operation of the layout or growth.

Lots of pressurized CO2 through an inline atomizer.
