I created this tank from ground up. I took an old 20 gal long and cleaned it up. In the process I took off the top rim as it was falling off anyway, I then proceeded to add foam and real slate rock. Once the foam was dry I carved it into what I wanted.
Then I took and coated it with some Fiberglass resin...took about 3 coats. Most the time this is done outside the aquarium but in this case I did this entire thing inside the aquarium start to finish. After adding the resin I painted the insert and then painted the outside back of the tank black
I once again coated it in another coat of resin to seal the paint to the insert and keep it from leaching into the water. Once everything was sealed and dry it was time to add substrate, plant it and fill it.
Now a couple months down the road it is contains some of my home bred glow light tetra and yellow tiger endlers, It also has 2 kuli loaches, two small bumble bee catfish, and some shrimp. The plants are full and happy and everything is doing great
Id like to know what you think
