I have 5 shrimp in my tank. I was told they are great cleaners. I like like how they look but I am terrified one will touch me! I hate them when cleaning the tank! So gross!!

    too funny!

I do have to admit the other day when I was nosing around one of my tanks I had a shrimp get caught up in my fingers as I pulled out some floating plants...the surprise of it made me jump.

I don't know what it is about them that makes my skin crawl. I couldn't have a tank with just shrimp.
    And.... ..

    What if they breed!?!

Well I must admit after all the years on Aquarium Forums I have never heard that before.

My only question why have an aquarium?

I love the fish. I love the plants. I sort of like the shrimp. They are fun to watch. But I don't want it to touch me! I couldnt have just an aquarium full of just shrimp. My frind has a tank of them and there is no way I could maintain that. But she loves them!
We can't like everything all of the time now can we? I love my dog but hate picking up poop but I'd never give him away just cause he poops.
Is there anything you don't like?

I had a crayfish once and my wife and I were watching TV and suddenly realized it was not in the tank...it was literally less than a meter away crawling around on the floor. It was the creepiest thing ever. Shrimp can also escape I think...

Amanos crawl out of rimless tanks if the water is high enough. I've never seen them do it...only find the misfortunate adventurer long gone in a corner somewhere.

Ahhh the crafty little barsteward that was my newt used to escape all the time. Just used to saunter across the floor! Honestly no idea how he did it.

I have had Nerites get out of the tank via the air lines but once on the carpet floor they do not survive.
