Hy guys, this is the layout I'm gonna realize in my new tank. What do you think about it? There are some photos of my other Dragonstones,do you think I can use them? I want to plant some Rotala Macrandra behind the root and some Eusteralis Stellatus and Rotala Rotundifolia at the sides. I want to put the Macrandra and the root on a slope,so the Dragonstone will be inclined, like the substrate. Here's the photos!

    Hey oxy,

the layout looks really cool, but the rocks are to symmetrical for my taste.

Hi guys, thanks for your help! Later I'll try to put some other rock,I hope they will make the layout minus simmetrical. Shadow,I can put the wood with or without the rocks?

I mean is additional wood to simulate roots from the tree. Assuming that you are trying to make a tree.

Mmm,I'm not trying to make a tree,I just want to make a layout with a wood! :D I want to use Microsorium and maybe some moss, but I think that for a tree I would need a tallest wood. Do you think it's too simmetrical?

Symmetrical or not is hard to say at this point because it also depend on the plants.

Try to get different size of rocks, something that obviously bigger or smaller. At the moment, from the front view, look as if all the rocks are same size. That what I think make it look symmetrical.

I like it. Are you going to carry the reddish gravel all the way out? Looks too circular, maybe?

Hi,the reddish gravel is Flourite. I will use only it for the substrate and i want to put the root on a sort of hill. What layout do you prefer?

Thanks,me too! Maybe it's the best... I think it's not too simmetrical and the rocks are of the right size! Someone else?

    Hey,

That's better. Maybe you should try different sizes mixed together. But you still have some kind of a star around the wood!

Play as much as you can with the hardscape. this will give you time to think and more chances to make it well.

    Cheers,

    LMA

Hi,I can't use my other rocks because they are too big or their color is too different from these. Do you think that tha "star" isn't good?

I think that a more random arrangement will make it look more natural.

    Cheers,

This is how Amano do, he practically throw small rocks from top on to the big rock and let it settle. Well not really throw with force, he just let it go from top.

now you only need to arrange the stones around it naturally and the hardscape is finished ;)
