Are you using RO/DI water if so what product are you using to Re Mineralogical it and most important why are you using that particular product when there appears to be several on the market today.

In the rare cases where RO is necessary or in the instances where folks like to have full control of their water there are a number of commercial products out there to remineralize RO/DI water. There are also some DIY recipes since what you need are very common household compounds like baking soda, Epsom salts, and some others.

Commercial products are things like Seachem Equilibrium

I was told RO water has best for planted tanks but never told I needed additives.

I've had my tank for a week and it's cycled but should I go back to tap, and my GH is already at 10 which I read is normal?

That sounds extremely fast can you post how it was done?

That sounds like a bit of Sales talk.

Every thing depends on your water supply first and what was removed.

I used half the water from an old tank and half RO, and used the same HOB and media from the old tank. Also added in safe start.

I think I'm just going to switch back to my tap if it's a sales pitch.

Thank you for that answer. That is one method that works perfectly every time.
