    Hi folks,

It's my pleasure to welcome to new ASW moderators!
    12.jpg

Let me first say, moderators here at ASW aren't the typical "policing" type moderators. We see them as forum/discussion leaders, experienced hobbyists in their own rights and level of expertise, community and regional ambassadors to other forums/social networks in our niche, and most of all - prime examples of hobbyists helping hobbyists which is hopefully a contagious habit no matter if you're a moderator or not.

For these reasons, I'm happy to announce and welcome to the team:

    Shane P from the USA
    Tim Harrison from the UK.

Both aquascapers have been very active community members here at ASW and elsewhere. They offer a wide breadth of experience in aquascaping and planted aquarium/plant keeping that I think we all can all find invaluable as resources and leaders at ASW.

Please join me in welcoming them!

    -John N.

I've seen your tanks, so no use crying. Obviously the position didn't require personal good looks It was based purely on your aquascaping skills ⚡

I do except a prompt reply to my pm's OFC as some of the long standing mods in here have been know to keep me waiting

Tim doesn't live that far from me so he's on standby for my tank cleaning

    Edit typo had double meaning

The posts intention was banter and not dig, I never expect a fast reply. Real life always comes first. Some of us have more time to post and reply, others squeeze it in, you mods are not their at the communities beck and call.

In the pc gaming community we use to use 'MIRC' so we could send real time messages to each other, plus could see when others was online, worked well in its day. Software improved so we moved onto 'teamspeak' then 'mumble' which enables multiple chats rooms for teams, private areas, game specific rooms and general chat rooms where most members hang out with general chit chat. The forums activity is very quite nowadays as most takes place in chat rooms. Won many a battle on far distant planets, slipping through worm holes, laughing in tears as team mates rant at getting headshoted again, whilst on voice coms in game. The forums gets used for tutorials on game optimisation and other teams after renting dedicated game seavers off the community.

No real need for voice coms in aquascaping, we can wait. But I little banter is always a good thing IMO. After all it's part of what makes us human.
