Can someone tell me where i went wrong? I had 2" potted plants, i very tediously removed the plastic pots and f'n rock wool and tried not to rip off the roots. I then planted it in flourite. They look more like shrubs than grass. I would split up the grass but im afraid i'll kill all the roots or tear the grass. I don't want it to turn yellow after all that work.

just split the grass up, they look like shrubs because youve just planted them in big bunches...

all of their roots are intertwined. If i split them up and accidentally rip the roots won't the grass die???

Get an aluminium pan, place about 1 inch of water in it. Place the hair grass plugs n the pan. If you roll them a bit, the rock wool will start to separate from the roots. It is much easier to break the plugs up then. It will take some time, but the results will look much more natural, and you won't have to worry about losing any of the root.
