I do cannot remember how many times I have said, "do not change what ever you are doing" it must suit your plants.

    Don't forget the photos please.

David it looks very healthy are you going to plant one strand per time or in small clumps?

Trying to figure out what the name is, have several different names and different pictures. All say they are pearl weed, some I know are dwarf baby tears.

As long as you have the Botanical name correctly that is all that matters. You can call it Hemianthus Micranthemoides

Pearl Diehi, common names can and often cause confusion.

David its worse when they change the Botanical name and you have the old and new names but nothing else.

Looked it up on Tropica website and Hemianthus Micranthemoides is correct. It says it's an advanced plant but for the price I'll give it a try. Probably plant it in small clumps.

David as long as you take care when planting every thing should be OK.

Woke to a nice little surprise this morning. Thought I saw the white sand moving on it's own, turns out I now have about a dozen little albino Cory catfish swimming around. Almost have all the parts for the new sump filter, except the pump. A lot of cheap ones on Ebay but company had bad reviews. Bought an Aqueon AQ 2300 pumps about 317 to 608 gpm should work. Now have enough cuttings to start filling third tank with plants. Bought I think they called it Hornwort to help control algae, it's now growing about 3" per day and it's just floating. Will send pictures of new setup in 55 gal tank as soon as driftwood shows up. Hoping to add some cherry shrimp to 75 gal after the 1st. of the year when they start shipping again. I think water in 75 gal is stable because all critical readings are zero right now, just have to add water once a week. Any questions or comments let me know

Well done having the Cory fry.

As a check can you post the actual readings and how you got them please.

Add water once a week are you referring to changing water or setting the sump up?

Nitrate (No3) 5or less, Nitrite(No2) 0.15, Hardness(GH)83, Chlorine 0, Total Alkalinity (KH)185, PH 7.48. Testing done by independent company testing water in neighborhood. Didn't tell them it was a fish tank sample. Adding water to existing 75 gal tank no water changes. this is a mixture of water from RO system and tap water.

At the moment its not a real concern but over a period of time the Nitrite might build up.

Nitrate recommended below "10" and the Nitrite "0" Increase the water changes should help to bring the Nitrite down.

How often do you clean your filter?

Next time I clean it will be to put it back on the 55 gal tank. Using the sump filter for the 75 gal tank. Haven't done a major water change in 2 months. The 55 gal tank has had no filter for about a month and a half. Six fish and about 35 plants.
