I have used Osmocote for many years and now there are many varieties what exactly did you use. In the garden/pots it break down very fast. Are they now making one for tanks and ponds?

Just a check can you do a full water parameter test and post the results reason my concern is the Osmocote.

    Hi Keith,

This is what I'm using. I add it to gelatine capsules and place it under the ada soil.

    Bought it here,

    http://www.osmocote.co.za/contactus.htm

Must be leeching into my water column. Not adding any npk at this stage seems to help.

Trying to get some monte carlo to plant on the right front.

They must be selling it in bulk lots but which Osmocote is it that is my only concern as they make many varieties.

It should be marked on the bag.

Thanks Keith, none of those needed over the months stated? Or should I start dosing earlier?

Here's my opinion of the algae bloom: you are growing HC Cuba fast which means you are pushing a lot of light, the problem is that it's in such a small part of the aquarium that you have a lot of light throughout the rest of the tank, over abundance of light will cause algae blooms. How many hours is your light cycle?
If you are using ADA aquasoil, why are you adding anything underneath it?

Busy doing a four day blackout, increased my Nitrates to 20ppm as per barreport. Not feeding fish for the four days.

Why- I'm noticing algae on glass and blue bearded algae.
Hope this will sort out the algae. Pics to follow soon!
