I would clean the filter inlet more often other than restricting the inlet flow it could block up the impeller as well.

Is there a special reason for doing a 50% water change.

I also notice there is still a lot of rubbish on filter inlet, try to keep it clean other wise it could reduce the water flow greatly.

Hi Ucitelot, Is easy life algaexit:eek: ??? The same as e/Life carrbo Liqid CO2 ?? As i had a Algae problem in a couple of my tanks :( On the internal set up :( One thing that helped was triple dosing Liquid CO2 easycarrbo over a few weeks. And taking out as much as was possible buy hand using a cotton bud and fingers  Every day :mad::cry: I also turned down the lighting period . This seem to have helped as i had no fish or shrimp in a the time ;) Doing a 50% water change once a week ?? El is new to me  Others will know more

Algae are produced when an aquarium is not well balanced. Causes of an unbalanced aquarium are the excessive feeding of fish, too many fish in an aquarium, excessive lighting or excessive fertilization. You also take them home when you purchase fish or plants!

AlgExit is a safe and effective product for combating almost all types of algae in a freshwater aquarium. Algae, such as beard algae, brush algae and filamentous algae, are effectively wiped out. AlgExit is easy and economical to use and harmless to fish, shrimps, molluscs and plants. The algae growth is first brought to a standstill and then it disappears. Any algae spores that are still present in the water are removed.

Hi Ucitelot , Great advert  Excessive light is the main cause;) Fertilization is not the cause of algae:) Its too much light and not enough CO2 ? Now you have the CO2 stable:D You should see your plants doing better than the algae :D Looking forward to your updates of how things are going (y)
