    Thanks Tom.

That would be really cool, the previous wood I got from you were outstanding. :) better than anything I could ever find in the UK.

I booked the hotel, so now waiting on the webpage to be ready for entrants.

If I compete, the plants to take would be ferns and crypts, stems travel really bad, unless I can get them there, but even then it would be a risky thing, unless the organizers give the plants.

Something like Edis's "Na Baby" would be cool and easy to scape :)

"NA baby" rock work took hours to get right , I was there!

If we can take our own wood and rock then manzanita and large dragon stone would do good. An island fern and Bolbitis jungle type with white sand.

We could cover the wood with moss before, so it looks grown in already and takes less time in Hannover.

Of course! That is what I'll do. And ferns and Bolbitis will be pre made as well.

I'll just place the lot on a bare tank and grow the moss on the wood. The ferns and Bolbitis will be grown emersed on a high humidity tank.

just arrived back home. had a nice day with oliver knott. some pictures will follow in a new threat :).

how s about using flame moss on the wood juri? i did it the first time and it looks amazing cause the moss almost only grows straight to the top. javamoss is soooo often used.

To compete, you want/wish/need to think outside the normal, something else is better typically.

A nice steep slope is always a good one. Atypical ways of using wood/rock etc.

Or an atypical fish or plant........

Last year winners ripped down their home tanks and rebuild them in Hannover. So it will be difficult to compete without good preparation. But as this year Mr.Amano will be there, I think NA style will be dominating ;) As well you have set up the tank in no time otherwise you will spend the whole weekend on the tank and don´t have enough time to talk with people and this is more important to me as to win the competition.

I got a tank that I can dedicate to this, but taking part and showing what I can do is more important than winning. :)

A scape to travel for me will be just ferns and mosses, cannot travel with stems.

Then focus on small tiny tanks, the techniques used in nano's will be useful.

Manzy wood is well suited for that.

Yep, if one has to take the tank as well, then a nano makes a lot of sense, and manzanita is the best plant for it! :)

I may take a nano as well, or can have an acrylic nano made for it, with a filter at the back, so it is seamless.

    Luis,
I don't think you are allowed to take tanks with you when you travel by plane..

Acrylic ones they do. :) For sure. Otherwise I will wrap it well, lots of foam, and send with luggage as fragile.

Would not take a glass tank that far, big chance it would break.

    Thanks shadow,
If I go there, I´ll report on a daily basis so you guys are up to date.

    Luis,
forget about your acrylic tank. They give you an empty Dennerle 20 Cube to scape, or you can bring a prescaped one with you and just swap - this is what all germans do.

So what about the XL category as an ASW Project?
