ok. fish are back to 100%. now the water is really cloudy.

how often do you guys clean your filters? my eheim has been running for 2-3 months without any maintenance.could this be the reason why my tank is always cloudy?

LOL, yes. Clean out your filter man! ;)

I usually clean my Eheims out once a month, which simply means I replace the old filter floss with some new stuff and call it a day. You'll see a good amount of flow return, and clearier water.

I meant to ask this before...What do people say when they see your aquarium in person? How do they react to an unconventional aquarium full of driftwood?

lol im going to clean it out today after work! i dont have any floss, i just have the circle things, the round things and the foam. but ill clean out the foam for sure today.

Well in the beginning people thought it was weird having a fish tank that was so murky and with not much in it. theres only been a few people who have seen my tank. maybe 3-4 of my friends, so i really cant tell you peoples reaction. but my friend who is into saltwater really likes the idea of my tank.

the plants that are in the tank arent really growing. I think i need to replace the attinic light bulb and get a bulb for plants. also, i want o set up a co2 system, but my cash is low right now.

and another thing, i hate these cories! theyre endless scavaging always buries my leaf litter with sand!!! it gets annoying cause ill put in a bunch of leaf litter and in 3 days they are all buried! i think im going to get rid of them lol.

btw, i still havent gone to the post office. i will do it this weekend for sure john! ive had a series of bad luck this month

what do you guys think about my tank. to me it looks like of bland. should i add more plants?

    im thinking about adding
    Echinodorus 'Rose'
    Echinodorus 'Ozelot'
    Echinodorus macrophyllus
    Echinodorus horemanii ‘Red’

and taking out the sand or maybe mixing it with gravel or something.

    i want your input guys!

the swords u listed have different types of leaves, the horemanii for example has wrinkly/wavy leaves. on the other hand, the ozelot for instance has straight, smooth, oval leaves. depends on wat u want as a look :)
