    Those shrimps are beautifully coloured up are you giving them any special foods to do that.

    Is that tank outside if not how did the Mossie larva get into your tank?

    @Evelyn..Thanks! :)

    @Roy..Thats a mosquito larva living along with shrimps
    The exoskeleton is molted pretty quickly, I once took a shot where shrimp started molting. Will try to document the whole process if possible.

    @Keith..Its in a room beside balcony, I would say semi outdoor conditions. The tank has all sorts of critters that would annoy any hobbyist like ostracods, bloodworms, snails, etc. They coexist with shrimps without troubling them. I scoop them out and feed them to my other fishes on regular basis :D free live food.

    I dont feed any fancy shrimp food. Some decent fishfood(wafers pellets), along with algae wafers, algae from other tanks, frozen food, blanched veggies. They are basically scavangers, feed them a variety they'll be happy.

    Thank you for all that information.

    It looks like its all the "Non standard" foods they are getting.

    A bug that appeared out of nowhere into this setup. Very amusing to watch it swim, doesnt seem to prey on shrimps, I wonder how is it alive?

    Thank you so much for the bug identification! Seems its still a young bug around 6mm TL.

    I'd like to know whether it is potentially risky to have it in shrimp tank. Theres only one, I am not sure where it came from, it was tiny bit initially and I thought it might be daphnia then. The tank is on my desk I see it most part of the day so far dint find it lurking on any shrimplets. I was and still am curious to see it grow.

    Hi Hamza, Your welcome :) No risk to the shrimp ;) It eats algae and plants cannot bite as its only has soft mouth parts :DIt spits on the leaf to dissolve it then suck up the juices. Like a fly :sick::sick: Life cycle, Egg Nymph adult ,On its last molt it gets wings so can fly life span about a year (y) Enjoy watching him her ?? :LOL:
