    Hello,

    Wanted to share new air stone and check valve... red flame sward leaves are looking great! IMG_2059.JPG

    Also hot rodding my cartilage filters by adding sponges to their intakes...

    Also running a HOB Fixxex X360 the outflow tube is in picture across the inlet to the cartridge filters.

    When you have Shrimp in your tank its a must to have sponge filters over the intake otherwise they will become filter fodder.

    I would cut a deep X in the filter block and push it over the inlet.

    The sponges are already in place per the picture... this will improve the functionality of the cartridge filters.

    Jake I cleaned my sponges weekly when I did the water change if not it will slow the filter outlet down.

    Keith,

    Weekly sponge cleaning will be necessary but livestock or plant matter is no longer a concern with the inlet tubes.

    That's a breath of fresh air.

    Next I plan to run pumice in a media bag to replace cartridges in the filters.
