been looking forward to this :) It looks as though something has been dropped in the middle of the rocks and they have all been sent outwards. Although i know why you have done it, but the stones are the most important of an iwagumi. I think it would look good with some E.Viviapara to give it some height aswell.

    just my view :)

i allready thought about this - maybe the area behind the stones .. would create more depth :)

I think the rocks are placed to much on the left side. If the tank was about 15 cm shorter it could work, but know I don't really like it. But it is hard to critique the scape on the first days so I may change my opinion ;)

I want to see this grown in. Keep us updated!

As for the rocks, its kind of sketchy.

I think the big rock on the left should be facing the same way as the other big rock. But maybe you should take pictures in different angles to help us get a good picture of the lay out.

besides that, so far so good. Keep us updated!!

some of my hc plants are dieing :( and i allready can see some small hair algae *i´m very worried about this*

currently i do every day 50% wc; dose 5ml easy carbo, 10ml TPN+ , 3-4 co2 bubles /sec 160 watt lamp, eheim 2235 with 700lph power, 8h photopriod, 4 hours in the morning, 4 hours brake, 4 hours on the evening.
    anything wrong?

hair algae is because of low/ fluctuating CO2. HC can also be hard to get strated but it does take off! Try running the CO2 high unless there are any fish?

Are you running the full 160watts for 8hrs? In high light tank with little plant mass I would run lights for only 6 hrs at startup and then move up to 8hrs. Also wouldn't you be better off having the spray bar on the left glass and spraying across the tank left to right in terms of moving co2 around. I would keep trimming all plants it will initate more growth.

i have some kind of oldfashioned MH lamps - they are less efective than T5 lamps - so "my 160watt" are probably in reality some less ..
    i run 4hours, 4 hours brake, again 4 hours

i didnt understand the point you are talking about the spraybar, it is actually at the left glass and the co2 diffusor is on the right glass and i have a ciculation (watching from the top) like a watch, hope you understand what i mean.
the hairgrass is looking healthy, can allready see some new leaves :)
actually hc is full of o2 bubbles - some parts look like thew were dieing but there are fresh green spots on them - so i hope the will come out

From the pic I thought your heater was a spraybar. I personally don't like using 4 on 4 off 4 on in a new tank since you are stalling new plant growth as well. If the tank is already established I could see it. You also only need to dose K and micros for the first few months with AS. If your checking co2 levels with drop checker and could see pearling than your probably O.K. co2 wise.

    Hi Jur4ik,

cool tank, do you see already, the growth?
Do you use stems also? will be good looking, because you have enough place...
I would add some fast growing plants to get the biological balance faster.
They could be removed after a few weeks, but they avoid algae....

    greets

yes i think i will add some stems now. hc is pearling but i cant see any growth - is not the same like with glosso :D eleocharis is already producing runners :)

i´m a bit sad at the moment because of the cloudy water, some hair algae on the hc and that hc is dieing or melting particulary :(

i will make now a 50% water change and add some stems - hope they´ll help.
i also think there is not enough flow - going to replace my eheim 2235 with jbl e1500.

when can i put in some amanos? (they are allready adult)

Are you sure it's hair algae. From the pics it looks like diatoms which is normal within first few weeks of setup. You can swirl you finger around the HC if it comes off easily it's just diatoms. Just keep doing water changes. Also did you use carbon in the filter and/or Purigen to help with organics. In the early stages of an Iwagumi setup these things help to deal with a limited biofilter.

ok maybe there are diatoms - ohnestly i cant separate them because i never had algae - or maybe many years before ..

now i made 50% wc, and added some stems of cabomba and right now the light turned off - from today only 6 hours lightning.

i use some old bulbs - one of them is about 2 years old, and the other one too, but it was out of use for the last 2 years. do i need to replace them? i should i switch them to more powerfull mode? i can decide between 80watt and 125 watt mode ?

i thought for the beggining they must be ok as i dont ned so much light - but maybe there is a lack ?!

going to order now the bigger filter (jbl e1500) there are definetly areas where is very small flow
