Lately i've been gaining interests keeping and raising shrimp. So far i've got 3 species of shrimp in my collection.

As we all know there are many types of shrimp food out there. I am curious to know what shrimp food do you use? If you don't mind, please share your experience using the food as well.

I only have RCS at the moment, feeding them Hikari Algae wafers and ocassionally blanched cucumbers. They're in a species tank planted with moss and ferns..they really like the moss..and the microorganism that they feed on in there.. :D

What types of shrimp are you keeping? Most times Hikari Algae wafers will do the trick. That's what I used for my Cherry Shrimp, CRS, Green Shrimp and Tiger shrimp colonies.

As of now I have cherries, snowballs, and yellows. I have the Hikari Algae Wafers but they never seem to like that, I don't know why.

Orlando - Lucky you, I'm assuming they just feed off the organisms and fish flakes?

My shrimp eat the same stuff my fish eat. So what ever I put in the tank for my fish (flake, frozen, wafers, pellets) that's what they eat.

I have used different kinds of food including algae wafers you all mention. but recently started feeding Shirakura which I ordered from Japan. My RCS dog pile on top of each other like there is no tomorrow for this food. They love it.
ps Maybe I should have said "Shrimp Pile" LOL

My cherries and Amanos love Hikari Algae wafer but loves Aquatrol spirulina flakes more.
Hikari just came out with shrimp cuisine. I haven't seen it at LFS yet.

Hmmmmm, interesting. I have 2 CRS and 17 RCS in my shrimp tank. With mangrove log covered in java, and couple of riccia rocks.
But my shrimp love hikari crab cuisine, and hikari algae wafers. Although they eat anything that drops to the bottom. such as flakes and granules. =]

For the most part I haven't really fed my shrimp anything other than what I feed my fish. They seem to do alright with what's in the tank.

I don't feed shrimp anything either. They seem more than happy playing 'tug of war' with the fish over pellets, flakes and bloodworm ;)

I just tried Mosura food for the first time and they went NUTs. I've tried a lot of high grade foods... they like cucumbers and Mosura the best.
