Can someone give me some tips and tricks as well as general experiences with the ruby tetra?

    Scientific name: Axelrodia riesei

I am planning on getting around 30 for my 75 gallon when I set it up in January.

Similarly, how difficult are cardinal tetras? Can they be maintained for 2-3 years?
I have heard that they are difficult to care for.

    Thanks!
    Shane

I can only advise you on Cardinals. I had them for many years, I ended up buying very young ones direct from the importer, he found he had a greater survival rate doing that.

He often said it was the method they used in breeding and raising them often caused problems.

As long as you had the correct conditions and a good variety of foods they are easy to keep.
