    day 23, christmas in feb!

its not common for these plants to be here in my city, its a great addition to my new build! i even thought they were illegal to import because i may have only seen a handfull of guys with buces in my local forum. kinda nervous and excited same time coz i dont have a lot of experience with this species.

If they were collected from the wild and imported illegally I'd recommend a Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) bath. Some advice given to me years ago.

"For sanitizing plants, I recommend a 20-ppm (or so) Potassium permanganate solution for from 3-minutes for mosses and such to 20-minutes for heavy vascular plants.[IMG]" via an old hobbyist.

A reference with how to make a stock solution and safety information for PP. http://www.simplydiscus.com/library/disease_medications/medicine_cabinet/pp_usage4.shtml

for a smaller stock solution: (from simplydiscus.com)
It's quick and easily neutralized with hydrogen peroxide immediately. A safe way to use it is to make up a stock solution. I personally use 4 gm/400 ml of water. About four MacDonald's coffee stirring spoons. Starting with 1cc/gallon by a syringe, the water turns into a light reddish purple color and is maintained the same color for four hours

im gona look into this solution, thanks bro! i think my source said that it is from his farm in indonesia, he only told me to rinse it in tap water before planting. of course i dint rinse it from my tap, i used some rodi to soak them and rinse before i got them in my quarantine.

ive also been told that the leaves would change in submersed growth.

Shawn has given you some excellent advice that should help you.

There are plenty of plants for you to play with.

day 30, late night trim, plant and waterchange.

since i only have sunday off this weekend, i had to do it this late. but for the sake of the no algae policy, ill never skip a water change.

i am currently being bothered by string, green spot and bba. it does not look out of hand but these are noticable enough that it needs a 3 day black out. i did some h202 spot treating aswell.

i have some buces floating in the quarantine for a week. i decided to plant them today since i think the tank needs more leaves to absorb water column nutrients anyways.

Add to that, it will get EVERYWHERE. The two most recent scapes in which I used it, it got everywhere and I could not get rid of it. I have been fighting the invasive riccia in nearly all my tanks ever since.
