As long as they do that for video only it´s ok Amano do that too, so why not - in LFS the fish have to stay much longer in such small tanks. Frank, this is an amazing example of the ADG hardscape only philosophy roud: love this little beauty and the lightning is top notch for such a layout roud:
Brilliant, Please can you convince the tank makers to expand into the uk? It's as good as impossible to get LEDs that look nice.
I am looking at making my own led stands, just need to figure out a way to bend aluminium and keep it looking nice. The leds are not hard to get, most electrical shops sell it. However, if a shop already had the lamps available it would be much easier..
They sell types of leds but I'd want to use good ones, Luxeon etc. there was a study on a reef blog I read and they basically found cheap leds produced up to 1/10th the ammount of par despite being the same voltage. You can roll aluminium, I used to do it all the time at college for project work. You use what looks alot like an old mangle and just keep sending it though.
You mean Luxeon like these ones: High-power LEDs (Luxeon) - Conrad Electronic - High-power LEDs (Luxeon) Shouldn't be hard to put one set together. Hopefully one day one of the shops that do bright led's will sort something out for us aquarists.
