Have you considered using an epoxy to build the stone structure? I cannot recall the exact type, but essentially what reefers use to build their reefs out of live rock.

I saw it used to great effect at the Aquatic Experience in Chicago this last year. The winning nano tank used epoxy to build the rockwork.

What a great way to use rock, it looks like a scifi landscape

Shawn asked a similar question several months ago and there has not been a reply post.

To the best of my knowledge its all held together with those plastic ties, this makes it very easy to pull down and reuse the rocks for another Aquascape.

He drilled smaller pieces and used zip ties through them to make the structures.

When you look very closely you might be able to work out how it was done.
