No experience till now.
I will let you know hom much maintenace is needed.
Hi Denc_er Very neat idea
That is certainly a fancy pre filter considering mine is a simple internal filter sponge with a hole in it that fits snug over the filter inlet.
Inspired by gUSH and here ist a building instruction I found on Youtube "How To: Make Your Own Aquarium Filter Guard"
For me it is important to keep everything "stylish", spending a lot of money for nice glass filter parts and then put a sponge over it ... noooo
My filter sponge is in a back corner and can only be seen from that side which is not easy to access, plus in the near future it will be hidden by plants, tall Crypts and Anubias nana on a piece of Driftwood.
interesting filter guard....i might see you tube one day for the instruction and how it work.
thanks for sharing.
Hiding is even the most elegant posibility...
I have some problems with my shrimps. Since the fishes entered, the bees disapeared. Somtimes a single one is at the forground and the rear edge.
Thought all my fishes are compatible with shrimps. Any ideas?
If disappearing it could be the Cory.
If dying the Cory will finish them off very quickly.
If just disappearing and not the Cory there is only one thing Filter fodder before you put the pre filter on.
On you list the other two species will not effect them at all.
They were big enough to be not sucked in. The coris... littlebit stressing, on the ground like the shrimps... Could be a reason... Damn
Big problems with algae late of.
But now it runs...
Looks like a little trim would help.
Beautiful colourful Shrimps you have in you tank.
The Back Lighting photo is very effective.
An inspiring little setup, great composition, wie sagt man, das ist fabelhaft
The thread is a great read thank you.
I think you’ll find they are Gypsum - 'desert roses'
Love the backlight shot looks lovely mate. The algae is not noticeable ;-)
