Nice first plant! Waiting for the others ones!
Can you tell me what is your Co2 system?
Its a co2 regulator for paintball bottles with a solenoid valve integrated , and you can see the diffuser on earlier post on this thread
Aquatek from a dealer on ebay
That Anubia looks very healthy plus it has a good growing rate (no algae).
What other plants are you thinking about?
Thank for your answer Ohly!
Hi Ohly, Nice Anubias
I would go with HC or Monte Carlo, but you need Co2 and great lighting. I normally add them using the dry start method for 3 weeks before adding water, then go with high co2.
Hi Ohly, Hows are things going??
Yes its been two months since we have had any updates.
Update coming tomorrow I swear
Thank you Update will be sufficient no swearing please.
Not that kind of swear
Hi everyone Here's a little update of the tank just like you asked for
Since the last update we decided that we would add plants and fishes from my little aquarium (Galaxys )
The first plant that we got is now full of leafs and we have a flower coming soon there's also another anubias that came in the tank (smaller one ) that we bought at the local fish store. We also have a new inhabitants in the tank that are some amano (2 + 2 other shrimps) and a flying fox (we had a lot of green hair algae so we bought 2 of these and they got rid of it in 3 days )
Ohly will update with the pictures soon
We have plans to get some carpeting plants too
have a nice daayy
Thank you for the update.
Hi everyone , I've a bunch of news to share with you.
The tank is running nicely, after what happened the day right after our last update.
What happened is that CLT told me the co2 bottle indicated as empty of soon to be. So I took off the bottle and adjusted the flow regulator to maximum just to get rid of any pressure remaining in the pressure regulator, and this is where I made 1 huge mistake...
I readjusted the flow regulator just ABOUT where I thought it was before. To make it short it wasn't even close...
The co2 guy was waiting for a restocking of co2 so I had to wait the whole weekend.. So that made 2days without co2, I assumed that would do no harm to the tank and that was right. But, monday at dinner time when CLT looked at the tank she noticed that the fishes where swimming really strangely. She even thought some where about to die...
Due to high level of co2 the fishes were looking kind of drunk. But I knew it wasn't that bad and CLT had the really good reflex to unplug the co2..
When I came back from my job at 16h I took the outflow and set it to the surface so the moving water at the surface would accelerate the gas exchange to get rid of the co2..
But unfortunately the flying fox died.
But enough of that, now the big news is that we ordered new plants to finish the scape.
We ordered :
So we'll receive those plants this week and will finally post some pictures.
And have a nice day ! Ohly and Clt
Sounds you have just had a big learning lesson.
Several years ago a LFS in our area ran the Co2 over night too high and next morning a lot of dead fish.
Update when you have planted all your new plants please.
Hi Ohly, Hows it going ??? Any photos
Hi Ohly Hope all is going well Update and photos
Yes it has been awhile since we have heard from you.
I am alive.. And it's been a long time.
A lot of changes have happened in both my life and aquarium since the last update.
I must say that I am doing great, however my aquarium setup didn't live to see all that..
Me and my girlfriend (member clt) did move to our own apartment(we lived with clt's sister).
I also need to mention the addition of a dog and a cat to our "family". The dog is more clt's than mine but it's still lots of responsibility for me.
And I'm sure I am overlooking lots of things that have changed since last update. However the point here is to make a somewhat finale update to green rebirth (1) and prepare the ground for : green rebirth (2- maybe).
So as I mentioned, we move to another apartment, we knew it many months before so we had to prepare... Therefore the dismantling of green rebirth project.. We could also say that we put an end to an agonising aquarium, algae had taken over the aquarium.. It was almost shameful to look at for me..
At least that past.
What I learned however (or rather confirmed ) is that I often try to do things in grandiose way even if I'm a neophyte ( noob ).
Paired with the reasoning that such hobby is easy than people say , result with failure of such project overtime..
- I don't know what more to say for the moment about that previous project.-
Now the the opening group of the next conjoined project of clt and I.
Recently clt stated that she wanted to start again an aquarium with fishes, she practically told me about it every day.. Few days ago while a a pet shop, looking for filter replacement parts, we stumbled upon a great deal for an Eheim aquastyle24 aquarium kit.. We agreed to wait a bit to think about it. We ended buying it today..
I don't tking we will plant it as heavily as my last aquarium. We might even just get few mosses and other easy growing plant and populate it with shrimp.
I will vote for an easier goal for this project.
I hope this quench your update thirst and get you hyped for the next one.
Have a nice day and thanks for following me even when I wasn't therw.
Ohly and Clt.
Thank you for the update
Its very difficult to explain to some new members "Slow down otherwise you could be heading for "trouble" Aquariums/Aquascaping is always a learn as you go it does not matter if you are a first timer or have had many years of experience
That sounds like a great idea
That looks like a good little unit, did you buy the stand as well?
