    Hi everyone!
I'm new around and just want to show my new shrimp tank project.
Well, the idea came to me a few months ago and I got some stuff ready... but as usual the money gone and I ended up with few pieces of bogwood with nicely tided moss on them :)
So, three weeks ago I had a bit of luck and turns out that I could be with €85 ...???
I know that €85 is a pretty tight budget, but at least I can try....
I opened a local web site for second hand stuff and BUUUM :)
    I managed to get a tank and a heater for €35 ~ lovely :)

I had one old internal filter at home and also some DR Akadama soil, left from my mother's potting :)
The biggest problem in this situation will be the lighting???
I have no idea where and how to get one, but will see...

    Here we go !
A good and clean tank and I decided to go with HMF
( Hamburger Matten Filter) I bought a sponge sheet and a plastic bar to install the filter.

    Thanks all,

The start is always good :) and after that all little problems staying in the queue :)

Next step will be to install the HMF, I have to paste this plastic bars in the right back corner and fitting the sponge very well to prevent all shrimps crossing into that little section and probably get sucked into the filter.
I did paste the holding bars into the tank and have to wait around 24h before fitting the sponge - looks like this :)
second photo shows how I worked out the right length of the sponge, it is only a narrow piece :) DSC_0376.JPG DSC_0409.JPG

The light does not have any names on it at all.

I am very interested to see what you are doing.

    Thanks Keith,
The light looks very nice, but I think will be very small for my tank!
The tank is 75 cm long which is 2.5 feet, I have an option for the moment and will see ??? :)

So, I managed to get the right size for the sponge and also after a little fight I was able to fit it.
I am not so happy with this white color, but I had no choice as the LFS asking for a huge money ( €20~25 ) for a blue or black one and with my tight budget I can not affort.
This one cost me only €3 +€4,5 for the bars :)

There are a few more WEAPONS which I going to use for the whole set up of the shrimp tank :)

This looks like you have everything in place for a great start. How is it shaping up? What shrimp are you going to be keeping?
