    Hi folks,

I recently started a new project - a shrimp rack.
My goal is to have 4 identical tanks in a rack, perfect for shrimp breeding and nice in appearance and with quality stuff in there. Will start with simple CRS species and upgrade on Taiwan shrimps later.

    Tech Specs:
    • custom made AQUASYS tanks, sized to fit the rack perfectly 82x39x20cm with glass lid sliding system
    • Under-gravel filters
    • AquaEl Circulators 500 to boost the under-gravel filters
    • Double branded Akadama
    • ADA Aquasoil Amazonia New Powder
    • Shirakura Mineral Stones

to be updated with photos and videos..

I had a tank with undergravel filter and akadama. It worked perfectly and didn´t colour the water brown, which I was worried about before I tried it out. I don´t know if you have tried it out before?
    I used this Akadama Akadama_Redline.jpg

Looking foreward to hear about the projekt.

    Nicolai.

Shrimp racks are cool, Edis has a room just for them, long shallow tanks!

    Take some pictures.

How are you going to sort out the filtration?

    Flo,
indeed the pipeline seems endless, so I have to slow down from time to time

    Nicolai,
I used the same akadama before on a test tank, so I'm used to akadama and under gravel filters. This time I used different akadama the other one was sold out due to Fukushima issue

    Tardis,
    cheers mate

    Robert,
speaking about Taiwan I mean "King Kong" and "Red Wine"
I will start with simple grade CRS and upgrade than to F1 Taiwan/Bee mixed youngsters, which should bring me in F2 25% Taiwan - this is where selection and breeding fun begins :)

    Luis,
Mine are long and shallow as well ;)
Going for Akadama and Aquasoils Powder with under gravel filters which are tuned with extra circulators instead of airpump.

Here are couple shots of what it looked like as the tanks arrived

the red wine shrimp are quite stunning. I'm not sure if I'm into the black colored shrimp.

looking forward to seeing how you put this together Juri.
