I had some troubles with this tank. My blue tigers were dieing. It had some algae. So I removed all tank inhabitants.Found a little cabinet and turned it into a stand. Replaced the substrate with Amazonia Aquasoil. Replaced the hang on filter with an Eheim canister. And replanted just a few types of plants. I am having some clear acrylic pipes made to replace the green ones. It has some growing in to do. I also removed the stone, and just left the driftwood, which I attached HC to.

Its sad, that your shrimps died :Blah: Which lightning do you have choosen?
Please show us photos after it has grown a few weeks. Is this Hemianthus Callatrichoides on the wood? Does that work? I've never seen that.

Thank you both for your replies. Yes, I have seen the HC attached to wood, and also to rock. It was here at ASW that I have seen it. A woman in germany I know has also done this with success. I did manage to save 7 tigers, which I moved to my RCS tank. All is well there. I don't think shrimp will go back in this tank at this point. I am going to get some gobies this week. I will place them in another tank until this one is ready, then try two there. The lighting is a 13 wt PC.

Hi, I got it from ebay. It was Finnex 4 gallon tank with Finnex filter, and light. I paid about $35.00 U.S. & shipping.

I think the wood is a good piece and should make a nice focal point for that size tank. If you could somehow prop the wood up a little higher and have the tip break the water's surface that would be a nice effect. Definitely stick with plants with small leaves. You might be actually doing the HC a favor by putting it on the wood, since with 13w of 4g you might be alittle carpet challenged. Looks great on that "stand" by the way.

Thanks for your replies. The wood does break the surface about an inch, and there is a black matte background. Yes, if you noticed in the top photo, the HC grew like a small bush. I went ahead and placed the stone back. I will take more pics as it grows in and you can say whether or not you like the stone. The NH3 is kicking from that aquasoil!
