Dear Senior David,
Does the snail eat up the plants? Advice please?
The killer snail only prey in others snail you may have in your tank... plants and mosses are safe from it.
I'm a big fan of your Crystal Red shrimps. As a semi-shrimp fanatic, I like Crystal Red Shrimp with good red and white striping but not overly white like some SSS grades, etc.
Are you covering the filter intake to prevent baby shrimp from getting sucked in?
Glag you like my shrimps...
About that subject, I'm not protecting the filter intake.
Some pics to share .
Looking abit green in there Joe!!!!
Green it's not saying all....
BTW, John already covered the filter intake :-"
Now some updates .
Even the battle against algae it's not finished, I added another group of shrimps. Crystal Black's are an old time favourite, so I decided to get a few more.
Happy Crystal Red shrimp grazing on my lovely mosses
What you think about my pregnant CPD?
Hmm baby's!!!! Only if u lived locally Need to find a better way to remove the algae quicker, shrimps wont be able to cover it all by themselves,
TIME FOR THE TOOTH BRUSH!!!!!!!
Dude, you have the cutest collection of mini critters. :O
Not yet mate,
I added as well a neritina snail. I will wait to see what happens...
BTW, until a couple of years ago I was in Cornwall, about 20 miles from Newquay.
Steven Chong - thanks mate. I do believe as well, I got the perfect selection for a small tank.
Ola Joe Faria,
É sempre bom ver portugueses por aqui
You have a fantastic nano there!!
the fauna have been chosen very well, every fish that you have in tehre are very interesting to mantain, the brigitae and the CPD are just amazing fishesto mantain in a nano tank!
The mosses and the mini pellia are well cared without a doubt!!
Btw where did you find the mini pellia and the moss?
Congratulations, keep posting new photos!
EDIT: Maybe i have a solution to that green algae over the scape... in my aqua the Neritina Natalaensis snail helped a lot with taht kind of algae (I callit green spot but I think I'm wrong about that).
You know u love the weather over here!!! so come back and sell me some CPD's ha ha
What do you feed your shrimps, please?^^
Since last week I'm adding CO2 to the tank. I've noticed the bolbitis it's full of new leaves on it's rhizome and mosses looks greener. Clado still there but it's starting to retrieve.
2 months later this tank still got plenty to offer . Female CPD looks every day more round and fatty. The CPD's group look happy. CRS and CBS are growing nicely, but no babies shrimps had been seen yet. Red Cherrie's looks like factories in double shifts producing babies. I got lot's of them berried.
Once, someone ask me what I give to my fish and shrimps.
Indeed its a Shrimp Factory, crack the whip!! Im still using up my Dennerle Shimp food, but my Cherry Shrimp are still tiny, should be able to put fish in soon The hunt for CPD's continues.
My Riccia, which i potted straight into the soil (in the pot) has Seperated from it and is now floating :-s Got any Tips on attaching it to some Rock? looking to get some more moss, and possibly anubias nana petite, I dont really want to start adding CO2, Just keep to Fert's, But I do want to add HC (Cuba)
In my opinion the best way to work with riccia, it's with a mesh... Just stick the riccia within the mesh and rock/wood and it will be starting growing fine.
got new guys to help with the cleanings.:-SS
Some pics to share of the tank and pregnant CRS:-SS
Just to share some pics of my mosses and shrimps...
Some pics to update after a month....
clean, nice and beautiful^^
It's been a while since my last update, but real life comes first
This nano it's on cruise control now. No problems, just WC and add a little bit of ferts one time per week... it couldn't be better.
