Thank you for posting that great Video.

Those fish look like a school of Piranha in action.

    Thanks for sharing.

I'd like to keep a culture going, but its a big PITA. You are lucky to be able to swing into the lab and grab some.

Not much to update on so here's some pictures I took just few minutes ago. I did some more UG trimming and trimmed off about 1.5 to 2 cm.

    Enjoy the pictures.

Today I found out that my waterfall is actually a shrimp assassin!!

Shrimps seem to like to crawl up the two internal tubings at night time when the waterfall is off and by day time when the waterfall starts running they have no time to crawl out and gets sucked up constantly until they tire and die.... horrible dealth...

I think only huge japonica shrimps cannot get in there.

Is there any thing you can place over the inlet tubes to stop the shrimps.

Not really. The sand won't really be able to go through then.

I was thinking of something like these inlet guards.

That won't work Keith, it's not the intake of the filter, it's the intakes of the sand waterfall that the shrimps climb into.

Is it possible to put ??? over/in the end of the inlet.

I used to have a very old style Back drop filter system in a 5ft tank, the Clown Loach's would swim through it that meant I had to pull the system down to get them out.

I used a small plastic mesh to block the piping up to stop them and it worked.

Yes I might go find a plastic mesh or garlic bag and stick it there..though that means I would need to drain the tank and then stick it.
