Flo, I can recommend my external filter Tetratec EX1200. It's cheaper than Eheim, but has a very good quality/price rate. You can take a lot of filter media in it, and another good thing, it is sooo silent! ;)

    hey folks,

    a quick update via smartphone.
yesterday i made a overall trim. i trimmed half of a 5 liter bucket of s.sabulata out and i ve trimmed the fern back in shape. i ll do some changes to the right side soon, adding another small branch with fern, cause i don t like the space between the right branch with fern and the rocks.

    cheers

i got a little bit bored of this layout the last weeks, seems like nothing goes forward much more. so i think the time for the final shot isn t that far away. i m allready working on a idea for a new layout, now that i have any equipment i wanted to have for this tank.

let s take a small look into the future...
the new layout should look like a lagoon, i ll use nearly the same plants i have in this layout and will use some glosso from my nano tank in front of the new layout.

but first of all i need to buy a huge bucket where i can put the fish in, cause i have to do this layout as a dry start and i want to save some of the cycled water too.

    cheers

:)) it s just the new external filter. the water became a bit cloudy cause i added some more soil where the old internal filter was removed.

    Hey Flo!

So, what price have I won? :D

Don't you think, your fish are to big to rest for some weeks in a bucket?
I would suggest another tank, it would be smoother.
(You can promise, you'll sell the new tank as soon as your originally tank is ready...):-"

    cheers

    eva, how would a knot-making-lesson be? :D

if i ll scape the new layout it will not need more time as one day.
airstone and heater will be moved into the bucket, i did this many times before in my last tank. never had trouble, fishes were okay.
