    Lava Beds National Monument - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    I am thinking about taking the girlfriend to visit there in May. It's either Kona or this Wildlife Refuge. Kona is a lot more obvious, and the weather will be immaculate, but I've been to Hawaii so many times that I feel like doing something off the beat and path.

    This reminds me of a section of the largest known cave in the world, which is in Vietnam. The jungle has collapsed into a section of the cave and it has it's own microclimate/weather. I love the Discover Channel!

    I'd really like to see it in person. Now that would be a vacation to remember... and definitely off the beaten path!

    Im in Socal but Im gonna do my best to visit some day. When I saw the pic I thought it was some place far, but im so close can probabably saty for a weekend.
