Showing off my tank , IAPLC 2013 rank #19
Some detail snap shot
Hi Shadow,Fantastic Aquascape Congrats on your ranking
nothing to say...........your that good really
So many details. Just love it. The ranking is a reward for your dedication.
Congratulations on your high ranking
It looks so natural can I ask how some of those rocks are held in position?
I like the way you have positioned the small rocks as if nature intended it to be.
The rocks are stack on top of each other, nothing holding it.
That is certainly a surprise about those rocks.
By any chance do you know the total weight of those rocks?
Did you place any thing (foam/egg crate) between the glass and the rocks?
The more you look into your tank the more you admire how it was all planned.
I did put plastic cutting/chopping board to distribute the weight. I did not do total weight but two of the biggest rocks which at the front left and right is around 10 kg each . Below is the image before planting, it is not the final hardscape as you can see. It evolve along the way with some detailing. Unfortunately I did not take photo the planting process... too lazy . I guess I need assistant to do the photo taking
Thank you for the photo and the extra bit of information
A few of those rocks look like they have cuts in them am I correct?
Plastic cutting boards would be a lot better than any styrene foam.
At a very rough guess if those front rocks were 10kg that would make total weight about 70-80.
Making a total weight over 100kg.
Hi Shadow, Wow now that is superb rock work
Those cutting are natural, at least that was my guess. It was like that when I got it. It is not full cut, only the surface have many of those straight line cutting like, maybe around 1cm deep.
glorious scape! I love the cave as well. nicely done!
Wow man, this is fu&%$ing phenomenal,
perspective effect is perfect...planted mountains are very real..
Stunning work, "Saludos" from Chile
Its okay I guess
I mean, if you are into well executed beautiful and pristine aquascapes with a little color...then yeah, i guess its nice.
If not...then you might be in the wrong place! Masterful work Shadow!
Really nice. How do you make the fish schoole like that?
Nothing special, bang the glass tank left and right while taking the shot. You need to repeat it multiple times and take the best pic.
edit* it also depend on the fish species, some cannot school. Fish like neon tetra, cardinal tetra, rummy nose, etc are easilly school.
Hahaha, so that's how the pros do it.
One of the best of this year. Really special.
