What's the most over used fish in aquascaping? For good reason or bad?
- John N.
Good - It is striking and can make a scape look awesome
Bad - Same reason as above - sometimes it is used and gives some credit to an otherwise average scape. On the flip side it can take some focus away from a scape that is actually in the top league.
Imo Top scapes require subtle livestock.
I think you're absolutely right. When I see smaller cardinals and neons they are fairly subtle to start. It's when the grow to full size...that's when they become a distraction for me.
The Rummynose Tetra was at a time an overused fish that I've seen. Mostly for bad in my opinion..they grow too big and almost too flashy with their bright red faces.
