I think the title is pretty self explanatory.
I get Florabase from another tank and i don't feel comfortable with the amount of substrate.

Do you think i can safely mix it with some Aqua soil?

you can safely mix whatever you want...

the problem is, re sea florabase breaks down and turns to mud after a while. if you read on the packaging it also says it needs to be replaced yearly... this is not the ideal substrate for me...

Yah, florabase turned to fine mud for me..pretty fast I might add. That's probably because I rescaped alot more then I should have and crushed it to mush during the process.

ADA Aquasoil has the same tendency to become mushy...but that's after years I assume. I can see a fine broken down layer in my tank right now, and the Aquasoil is about 4 years old. I'll bet it last another 2 years or so before needing to be replaced.
