Uk will be in serious trouble, only 14 people this year! And even then people may vote for the known people. That may create issues on most countries as well, but it will be good to allow people to post their tanks and have people vote for them!

I think of the top 7- any participant/judges whose country is in top 7 should be excluded from the vote.

In my opinion only the judges should be allowed to vote & not the attendees/participants of the party.
At least then we can still see some objectivity and let there be somebody noteworthy responsible for the results.

In any world sport- the referee between two opposing nations is always a neutral country one.

Then I think it can be a fair contest.

People don't actually vote like that, same as with threads, a thread from a known aquascaper will have more replies than from a unknown person. It is normal and accepted.

But on the whole I am happy with the changes.

I think not. This will only compound the problem of fake entries as Robert planned to do. Make loads of fake entries to get more 'voters' to get more votes in.

its free, so you can make as much as fake entry as you want :))

In other word you can prevent/minimize fake entry by start collecting fee :p

imo they should start collecting fees to reduce the amount of participants and increase the number of works scored by judges

    Just wondering
Which aquarium shop and magazine publishing will be eligible to vote ?
Will it be just one vote per shop/magazine ? Since there are few people behind those group

I'm sorry-I don't think you thought that through.

There'll be so many more mediocre entries and yet another round of biatching over the quality of judging due to oversights what not. Not to mention more power to those who cheat by having additional votes.

    I'm certain of it!

I support this idea. It will also discourage those vying for last! :))) Not to be mean to the new guys but some crazy fellas like to be 1st counted from the back by creating some computer graphic or some shameful scape.

I agree more entries should be judged by international panel judge but must not be so many until it's overwhelming. I'd say 150-200 is the limit.

I would like to add that top two and bottom two scores from judges be eliminated. So this prevents bias judging and non mainstream taste.[diplomatically speaking-:-"] You know like in diving competitions?

There should also not be more than two judges from any country.

Very kind judges that gives almost everyone a high score should decline the job. Little or no separation, so what's the point of judging?

I think round two needs fine tuning. It's mayhem with everybody voting for themselves. I presume the aquarium shops are those that carry ADA products. Countries with more shops selling ADA products would get a great advantage.

It wont work fish shop owner like C328, Na, Y618, Polyart, etc would they even bother to vote? They don't even care about IAPLC. They are old Aunty and Uncle who may not even know how to use computer. I give them IAPLC poster and sticker the other day and they just throw it in the rubbish bin :))
