I am thinking about using UG on my tank. Shallow 20cm only.

Would UG survive on normal water, or does it need RO as many say?

It doesn't need RO, it's just extremely sensitive to ammonia so leeching substrates need to be soaked before hand or to do a dry start.

Fantastic.. OK, I will try a scape the next week, got to reuse my 20cm cube, and UG scape would be good. Will use inert substrate and dose EI.
