This part of the rule is confusing and ambiguous:

The wording is confusing: "different photo cut or format"
    Does "photo cut" mean cropping?
Or "different photo" as in a different photo?

So does this mean that the photo is considered an identical work or that the tank is an identical work? So if you take two different pictures, you can't submit the second photo to another contest?

I'm aware that this was translated from Japanese to English, but it's really confusing. This single sentence rule is causing a lot of consternation. Is that why so many of last year's works were disqualified, because some shared different photos of the same tank? Is this rule the reason why some of us are afraid to update our tank journals, because that violates the "identical work" rule?

Hi Solcielo, I think if you enter your Scape into another contest and the results of that contest are published before IAPLC results you will be Disqualified from IAPLC:(

But does that mean the photo or the tank? I understand why it would be the one submitted photo due to publishing rights (you give them ownership to publish it) but to also claim all other pictures of the tank doesn't make sense.

Hi Its the final photo of the Scape . You can run a journal of the evolution of the tank but not the final entry photo.

Still New to the Aquascaping world of rules myself. I only enter other comps CAC and GAPLC. As I do like to update my journals  And can share the final comp photo with all on the forum :)

I'm worried that if I take two photos in succession that they will look nearly identical, and then be disqualified because they look identical, even though it's two different photos.

    hi Keith thank you.

just re read the comments on this thread and i think i made a wrong understanding about the query.

maybe solcielo lawrence refers to one of IAPLC contest rule regarding aquascape submitted to
iaplc and to the other contest sponsor IIAC 2015(ISTA 1st International Aquascaping Contest)

in case one contest participant sent photo to iaplc and join another contest similar to iaplc, that participant
can not submit same aquascape photo or somewhat similar photo with a little makeover to make it
look different...if in the process iaplc came into knowledge about the entry submitted to iaplc and ilac, the
entry to iaplc will be subjected to disqualification.

i think this is it. i am trying to look for that particular rule but no longer available since the contest is already closed.

That sounds like a very good rule to me.
