Welcome to ASW that is a very unusual style of Aquascaping and is very interesting to look at.

To help you give us as much details as you can about your lighting type and hrs per day, fertilisers and quantities used.

Do you know the type of snail you have also the type of Algae?

    http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_freshwater_algae.php

This link might help you with the Algae.

    thanks bro... isla
    jaja... im just learn.

    12000°K for the light , why ?
    - based on im read on internet. plants need 6300 - 10.000K .
so.. im here use Aquazonic coz i dont have a choice for highlight that simple and cheap.
coz im in low budget :D. and 1 watt per litre is'n enought for highlight.
but i will makes different when i have budget.
this is my new ration for light.
*based on im find on internet.

correct me if im wrong. i need critic. im newbie :D

why is not the co2 diffusor hidden ?

    - my plant is beside co2 diffuser..
im still confussing to place co2 difusser and mini power head to mix co2 good.
coz when im put co2 diffuser another place. co2 come up on surface and not mixed.

    CMIIW.

but thanks for comment. im already think about that. :)
its hard for me to do good aquascape in large tank with low experience like i have. he he he jaja....

    Hi Adrian,

A couple of other things you can do to get rid of the snails,

Suck out as many as you can when doing water changes.

Place a couple of blanched Iceberg lettuce leaves in the tank overnight remove in the morning with snails.
Keith reminded me of this old trick the other day Thanks mate(y) Its working too

With the assassins eating them as well. It will be bye bye pest snails

"Suck out as many as you can when doing water changes.
    - do you mean, i should water changes till 70% of tank or do 3 times a week.
coz i will do 3 times a week.

Place a couple of blanched Iceberg lettuce leaves in the tank overnight remove in the morning with snails.

    - " blanched Iceberg lettuce leaves in the tank "
= do you mean cold leuttuce leaves and put in the tank and put it out in the morning.
so after that put assasin snail.

    ok i will try.

With the assassins eating them as well. It will be bye bye pest snails  "

    thanks Roy and Keith.

    Glad we can help you.

Put the lettuce leaf in as soon as it cools down, blanching only softens it up a little.

Over night is the best and take it out as soon as the light comes on in the morning.

Its not going to happen over night just think every one you catch or the Assassin gets that is one less that can breed more of the stinkers.

You can syphon as much as you can and strain it through a fine net/medium and return it to the tank every day if you want to.

    Hi,

I found both sucking up the algae during water changes and covering the tank for a few days did the trick, other than that shrimp 'should' take care of the rest from there?

    Amazing setup though, I'm jealous
