    In this thread I hope to share some great articles on the Science of the planted tank as well as other helpful articles which can be found around the web. Please, only post good high quality articles or blogs. I plan to try and quality control this thread to the best of my ability.

    This is a nice summary of a research publication describing how plants oxygenate the substrate (and why power sand and heating cables are not necessary for this purpose) while promoting nitrification

    Here is a great resource article put out by Seachem on the chemistry of the planted tank. A great chemistry primer for those with a limited background in the subject.
