I'm a newbie to aquascaping, I had a few tank when I was little my grandfather "injected" this drug into my system :). the lack of space kept me from creating something but no more. I want to create a nano shrimp tank maybe you guys will give me some advice.

    BTW great forum.

    Best!

Welcome to ASW you have come to the right place there are a few experts her to help you with mini tanks plus a few more with shrimp information.

Do a bit of research here first and come back with a few ideas you would like to do.

To save a lot of time think of either a High Tech or a Low Tech tank.

Thanks guys for you warm wellcome.

@Keith: my goal is to create a Nature style nano tank, I'm thinking high tech because I want to have moss in my tank and from what I've read until now it requires a CO2 injection system. Am I right ?

I'm trying to figure out the size of the tank, I think a 20 gal is to big for me at this point is a 10 gal a good tank to start ?

Can you guys point me to plant guide ? I've read bits and pieces but I feel uncertain about what plants to use and if I can handle them as a beginner.

    Thanks,
    Cip

Hi Cip, Moss does not need Co2 It will grow faster with it. But will do fine in a low Tech Tank ;)

Ok so I decided what plants to use:

    - Microsorum pteropus
    - Echinodorus bleheri
    - Taxiphyllum sp.
    - Eleocharis parvula

Do you think I need more species of plants for a small 30L tank?

Also I will go with RCS, for start.

    Hi Cip,

Welcome to ASW! A few species is best. If you add a lot in a small space it can look messy. The echinodorous bleheri may be too large for your tank. You should consider some smaller cryptocoryne species.

Good luck and start a journal!

Thank you @ShadowMac. You are right, I look over the specifications for echinodorous bleheri and it's kinda bing for a 30L tank. I will use
Cryptocoryne wendtii instead of echinodorous bleheri, it seems right. Do I need to start the journal before the setup ? or when I setup the aquarium ?

@keithgh yes you're right and I have you guys to thank :).

I only need to find out what kind of substrate to use and then go shopping. I have a small concern though, I don't think I will find all the plants here in my country. :(

When you have made your final plant choice post the list with the alternative as there members all over the world here you never know what is available until you ask.

Hey @Keith, I just created a journal and put there the plants that I want to use, I'm sure the list will change :) but it's a start. I found almost all the plants on Romanian forums so I think I'll manage. In case I don't find them all I'll just order them online.

    Thanks!
