Want to share with you guys my first Vivarium setup.

It all started last weekend... saw a pretty cute little all-in-one nano tank. It's 1.5ft the tank cover seems perfect for a vivarium.

Since it will be quite light (compared to a fish tank), decided to put it on my work desk (next to my computer screen). Water vapour formed on the glass after a while... a good sign :)

Today is the official set up day. Went look for DW during lunch and found these rather short DW. It's so difficult to find short branching DW :(

Some plants to go along with the DW I-)

Actually I do not have much plan... since this is my first. I will just experiment along the way.

Here's what I manage to come up with :-s

    I vote a newt or a semi-aquatic frog.

Another look at the tank... the back part (right side) slants upward with a small area for emerse soil planting :)

Since the Mini Bolbitis is quite costly, I decided to stretch my luck a little by setting them in different conditions:

    1) Fully submerse (tied to DW)
    2) Half submerse with roots inside water (tied to rock)
    3) Fully emerse with roots slightly above water (tied to DW)

That is fabulous. Wouldn't this be considered a paludarium?

I've always wanted to make one, but I'm worried about water stains.

well - as far as what type of frog... you could always get a fire bellied toad. I dont know much about other semi-aquatic frog species though. Add in some endlers or shrimp and I think you've got a winner!

    How are you filtering it?

    Hello,

You always could try Red eye tree frogs...

    Regards,

And the effect is good... love it!

Unfortunately it comes with colour-changing LEDs... can't be disabled :( Guess will have to live with it or cover it with some plants :D
