I have a soft spot for bettas. First fish I ever owned and were a part of every aquarium I ever had until I became serious about aquascaping (and keeping shrimp).

Great posts Stickling, where's the source for them?

Presumably the bottom two are Sulawesi shrimp tanks?

It's a nice little tank indeed. Lava rock in nanos is like short hand for sulawesi shrimps and I don't really know why. I can see why people keep them though, there's some spectacular critters from that region.

Yeah, shame they're very specific about the water conditions they need. I've read some say they're as hard as marines and many reconstitute ro just as you do with marines.

first time saw this kind of scenery in planted tank only but here is one true pic of mother earth and it is in[one of them]my mother land - Philippines:cool:

source photo Philippines White Peak in New Bataan Compostella Valley
The amazing White Peak! This stunning freak of nature was located in Barangay Andap, New Bataan, in the province of Compostela Valley. It has been called as such by local mountaineers because of the limestone embedded on its rocky west face which, when hit by sunlight, gives an almost sparkling, crystal-like towering appearance as contrasted to the thick green moss that surround it

WoW this is stunning and very inspirational. Puts some of the out there tanks in the contests into perspective.
