Ah, yes everything is nicely tucked away in a compartment that's built into the rear of the Fluval Edge. (where all the plumbing and wiring shall go!)

The kit I purchased can be found here.
12 Premium LED Do-It-Yourself Retrofit Kit

The power supply is a 1 Mean Well LPC-35-700W driver

The heatsink was purchased here, custom cut to what ever length you need.

Turns out I have a Marineland c-160 canister filter available. I'll be plumbing that in for filtration, inline GLA C02 diffuser, inline heater. Hopefully it all works. This way I'll increase my volume slightly, keep unwanted equipment hidden, and be able to dump massive amounts of C02.

That is impressive and a fantastic use of a fluval edge. :)

I need to get one to try emersed setup, I believe that they are the best tanks for it.

what you dosing regime, i've seen this fluval edge for 200+ € in spain, but now it's gone down a lot to about 100€, with 2 halogen light bulbs but your lights are way better than the original setup

Thanks I hope so too! I'll be pumping a lot of C02! I had to dim the LEDS as-well to 50% it was burning plants. If anything I have way too much light.:idea:So I'm very optimistic of submersed results! I believe I'll be using pps pro dosing, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm looking to get dry fertilizers later this week and try to replicate some fertilizer program.

I just set up a fluval edge myself with LED bulbs but i just replaced the halogen ones with LEDs, not skilled enough to DIY my own setup like yours... This looks fantastic, awesome job!

    looking good jeff.

i see youre not getting total coverage to the egdes of the tank tho from the growth, thats a shame, but youre still at least an inch or two better than i ever achived, nice one!

Hi Jeff. I was trying to setup a Edge Reef Tank and was hoping to duplicate your led lighting setup. The stock leds arent helping out my corals at all. Could you msg me the type of heatsink you chose? Wanted them to make another heatsink like yours. From the pictures, it seems to have an excellent coverage for the tank. I would like to get the same heatsink and order the cree leds as well. I did note that Rapidled.com stopped carrying the 12 cree led premium kit. They did have another similar one though. Any additional instructions for doing this would be great too! Thanks, your tank looks awesome.

I went with taking off the top of the glass of the edge. The previous setup was far too restricting when came to maintenance. Here's its running with a Ehiem 2211 and co2. The lights are on adjustable hangers. Im really glad that took off the top.

    Interesting!

I was very impressed with it closed top. I'm thinking about to rescaping mine, so this is very interesting. I think an island of some sort is just about all I can go for - left to hoovering the corners...

Looks nice! Nice pick on the rocks.. Too bad you had to take off the top but it shows that sometimes looks can be decieving. DIY lighting mod. was suberb (twice!)! I like to see inventive people who upgrade a product from the market. XD

Any ideas on fauna? Maybe just inverts?

Thanks! I just put in 2 Otocinclus catfish for maintenance. I'll be starting with a dozen CRS maybe more.
