Ya that's where I'm hoping to get a sense of scale from.

Would my local publican be able to fill my Co2 tank, do they use the same Co2 gas for beer as we do?

Good thinking Batman. But I don't think so. The grade of CO2 is irrelivent, it's being able to fill the cylinders, pubs get there CO2 delivered with the rest of their supplies. But I can't see a reason why they couldn't supply you with a full cylinder then you just supply an empty one. You can only ask

    Hi guys.

Tanks been up and running since the 15th of December.
First cylinder of Co2 emptied and refilled. Emptied a 3 kg cylinder in exactly a month. I also got another cylinder and my local publican will refill them for free so ye know what that means!!

Growth has been great (I think).
Algae hasn't been a major issue, got that brown hair thread algae but my clean up crew are tearing it apart.
Not sure why I'm getting it though, prevention would be better than cure.

All in all its been pretty stress free. I've 35 cardinal tetras along with 20 harlequin rasbora who only arrived today. Also got the siamese algae eater today, will see how he goes.

Have about 20 or so red cherry shrimp and 30 Amano along with 6 nerite snails. Only added the snails about an hour ago and they are already doing some job of cleaning both the rocks and the wood. They are basically polishing the rock

I've my lights down to about 4 hours a day at a guess 50%.
Only picked up a new laptop today so will hook it up to the lights and get the sequence of sunrise and sunset going soon. I should be better able to manage the lights and in doing so extend the lighting time out a bit, gradually I know

Dosing ferts as well and as ye can see i made up a big batch. Only issue I have with auto dosing is I can't skip a day, so on the day I'm not to dose I have to divert the ferts. Bit annoying to tell the truth.

Only thing that didn't go well was the Moss I attached to the wood, most of it died and the bit that did grow grew algae and it was very unsightly. I'll give it a go again in the near future.

I'll take a few pics and attach them here.

    Thanks.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
