Here in Seahorse Aquariums in Dublin with George Farmer giving a presentation. 1st tank done, a nano iwagumi. Great ideas and lots of questions been answered.

P.S I'm guessing that if he's not busy with his aquascapes he's busy in the gym [IMG]

I'm obviously a complete noob when it comes to aquascaping. This time 10 months ago I'd never even heard of it.
When I looked into it, I was first taken aback with the iwagumi styled tanks.
I've felt that over the last 10 months I've learned an awful lot but now I'm not so sure about an Iwagumi, especially as a noob.

Mixing hard scape, using wood and rock is something that's grown on me. I'm thinking of getting a nice piece of wood and heavily planting from day one.

    Just my Sunday morning thoughts.

    Thanks.

Think iwagumi is mistake for a bigginer, but it's your call OFC nature or jungle may be better choices. But your call OFC

Ya I'm in agreement. I'm going to change it up and put in some wood along with my rocks and heavily plant then. Glad I gave myself 10 months to plan everything!!

Do you need those lights now ?
    How much did they cost?
    How deep was tank again?
Once you use them your stuck with them.
Recently got NEW CHIHIROS A-SERIES PLUS AQUATIC AQUARIUM SUPER LED LAMP 30-95W LIGHT 30-90CM which has five intensity settings out off the box

Then if you combined it with TC420 you have total control over light intensity

Probably not for this scape. I will learn a lot with this scape and in time would like to try an iwagumi.

Ya they cost me a few pound
My tank is quite deep at 60cm.

I've been cycling the filters the last two weeks and all looks good. I throw in some fish food once a week as well. I know that you added urea as well Zeus. I forgot to pick it up when I was on Dublin over the weekend.

Would they refund them do you think. I took them out of the box when I got them just to check that they worked.

Ordered them the end of September and arrived the 6th of this month. They're overkill now aren't they. Only thing is I would love to do an Iwagumi scape in the future.

So no need for dry start! Just a thought. Could use TGM method AS in rocks wood, no lights then tank cycled in six weeks, drain to lowest point or displace little AS as well. Heavy plant without micrograms etc
Your call OFC I'm just a noob after all

Iwagumi would be one of the hardest Aquascape to do and get it right. Many add "Like" Iwagumi, to me there is no such thing as Like it is or it is not.

Its certainly not a Beginners Aquascape. I have plenty of information here
    http://www.aquascapingworld.com/threads/guide-to-iwagumi-with-links.11053/

I strongly suggest you make a hard copy of as much info as you can.

There is nothing stopping you in creating as many as you want using a Mock Tank its a great way to learn.
